How to choose the LCD monitor and screen resolution

How to choose the LCD monitor and screen resolution,Call us @+971-523252808 for more details

Guide to buying the monitor for the best computer based on screen resolution, size and other technical parameters

After talking about things to know before buying a new computer , let's see how to choose a monitor for the PC  and what technical parameters to consider to make a good purchase, depending on the price you are willing to pay.

The most common monitors are the LCD or flat liquid crystal displays.

At the same time that LCD monitors have conquered the television market, they have also become a standard in the world of monitors, quickly supplanting old CRTs (cathode ray tube monitors).
In this guide we will see  how to choose a new flat panel LCD monitor .

How to choose the monitor for the desktop PC
LCD monitors also require less power, emit far less radiation than cathode ray tube monitors and the technology allows for clearer images, higher resolutions and a flicker-free display, good for the health of eyes.

Although all monitors look the same, there are important features to keep in mind before purchase.
1) Screen size : The screen size is measured in inches, in the diagonal distance from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner of the screen.

Available sizes range from 15 to 30 inches (although super displays of over 32 inches are available) but, generally, the most common format for a desktop monitor today is 19 "or, maximum, 22".
It is not wrong to bet on a large monitor but larger dimensions require more space on the desk and the cost rises enough.

Using the computer on a large screen is especially useful for those who work with graphics programs and who must keep multiple windows open in parallel.

2) Proportions -With the disappearance of CRT monitors the most widespread proportion is certainly 16: 9, identical to that visible even on modern TV.

Whatever the activity to do (work, fun, games) the standard is now 16: 9 so even the programs are exploited better.
Some new types of proportions such as the 21: 9 (Ultra Wide) or even 32: 9 widen the horizontal space and keep the vertical space intact: they are ideal for games in 4K. and for those who work a lot with graphs, tables and spreadsheets.

3) Resolution- Resolution is the number of pixels displayed horizontally and vertically.
Higher resolutions mean sharper images, more clarity and more desktop space for icons and programs; in contrast to increasingly higher resolutions, the text becomes much smaller and more difficult to read.

So, before thinking that more pixels = more quality, it is convenient to reflect on the way you use the computer, if you use it to work with text documents or if it is mainly used to watch videos and images.

The minimum resolution for all modern desktop PC monitors is Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), but monitors with 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) are becoming more widespread in order to achieve double the detail and resolution.

4) Contrast: Ratio The contrast ratio describes the difference between the brighter white and the darkest black that the LCD monitor can display.

Higher contrast ratios show clearer whites and blacks, thus improving the color rendition of the monitor in any scenario.

The best native contrast ratio you can have on a modern LCD panel is 1,000: 1.

We can also not use this parameter to choose between two monitors, since we often use dynamic contrast (via software) to obtain a better contrast in an artificial way.

5) Brightness: LCD monitors have a large back panel that provides all the light needed for the LCD panel; in the most recent models the backlight panel is equipped with LED lamps, which consume much less and allow a good result in terms of brightness.

The brightness is measured in candles per square meter (cd / m2).

A value of at least 300 cd / m2, ie a higher brightness, and is ideal for watching movies or playing games on the computer.

For office work and surfing on the Internet, a ratio of 200 - 250 cd / m2 is more than good.

6) Viewing angle: For the viewing angle of the image, the LCD technology has taken a clear step back from the cathode ray tubes, because the more we move away from the center the more the colors fade and the image becomes much more white.

This parameter is relative because if we use the monitor only with the PC, we will always look at it in front and never on the side (which instead can happen with a TV).

Regarding this topic, we can mention the difference between TN and IPS monitors.
The TN technology is the most widespread and the most economical of TFT screens and is characterized by a low angle of view and a low contrast ratio.

The most expensive evolution is the IPS monitor with more vivid colors and greater viewing angle.

7) Doors: A monitor must be connected to a computer and possibly to other devices, so it is important to know the number of ports that can be used.

In another article I wrote a guide on cables, ports and connectors on the computer .
For a standard monitor we need to check that there is at least one HDMI port and a Display Port port, both well supported by dedicated video cards and integrated chips on the latest generation motherboards.

If the PC is a bit 'old it is convenient to check that there is also an old-fashioned "backup" port that is DVI and VGA (the latter fall almost completely out of use).

8) Integrated audio

Thanks to the HDMI and Display Port ports the PC audio can be carried on a single cable along with the video, so many monitors have built-in speakers.

Our advice is never to rely too much: the speakers integrated into the monitors are really small and rarely sound so good that they can replace a small 2.1 sound system (practically never!).
So if the space is little we can consider a monitor with integrated audio, otherwise it is always convenient to bet on the separate speakers.

8) Conclusions: In summary, when you go to buy a new computer monitor, you must first consider the dimensions, proportions and resolution.

In the next step you can compare all the models available in the store to check the other features and, above all, look at the contrast ratio, brightness, and available ports.

Clean up a malware-infected PC by deleting every trace

Our PC is infected and we do not know how to clean it up? Let's find out how to eliminate every trace of the threat.

The best weapon for the security of your computer is always prevention and in several articles we have shown you the best programs to effectively protect yourself from threats before they infect your PC.
Summing up very quickly, the main cyber threats are: viruses and malware that cause malfunctions or blockages, spyware that steal personal data or show unwanted windows, rootkits that penetrate deep into the PC by modifying and controlling it, trojans that allow you to overtake defenses and control the PC, worms that replicate indefinitely to clog memory and disk and finally ransomware, ie those viruses that block any PC activity and encrypt files asking for the payment of a ransom to free the PC, otherwise the data will be permanently lost.

Even if you protect yourself, especially those who like to experiment, we can still catch these types of malware, especially by installing little known programs and visiting unsecure internet pages.
In this guide we will look at the best free tools to use to clean up a virus-infected PC by removing all traces .

How to clean up a virus-infected PC by removing all traces

The programs that we must use to clean up an infected PC and return to use it without problems are listed below.
Just download them, install them and start the integrated scan to be able to effectively find all types of malware described above.
Cleaning with these tools is very effective but deep changes may be necessary to the system so we use them only when we have recognized all the symptoms of an infected PC (sudden slowdowns, windows that open themselves without meaning, programs that disappear, Web pages that open themselves, block screens or blackmail etc.).

1) AdwCleaner
The first program to be used to clean up a virus-infected PC is definitely AdwCleaner, which can be downloaded free of charge from AdwCleaner  website.

Once downloaded, open it and click Scan Now to start scanning all types of threats on your PC.
At the end we will be shown the malware and unwanted components found on the PC, just click on Clean and Repair to remove all traces of malware immediately.

This program is particularly effective for stopping spyware, worms, unwanted advertising windows, infected plugins, malicious extensions and any other threat that could interfere with normal Internet browsing.

2)Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool

Another free tool that we can use to clean up an infected PC is offered by Kaspersky, a big company that deals with computer security.

We can download Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool from   Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool  website.
At the end of the download let's start and immediately click on Start scan to start the PC scan.
When the scan is finished, we remove all the threats that this tool will warn us, so that you can use the PC again without problems.

This tool is particularly effective against viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware and spyware, so we can use it without problems on all PCs that exhibit infection symptoms.

3) Spybot

Among the most effective tools to remove threats from the PC definitely stands out Spybot, which can be downloaded from Spybot

Once downloaded let's start and use the System Scan and File Scan voices , to scan all the critical areas of the system and to find the most hidden threats.

At the end of the scan confirm the cleaning to return to use the PC as before infection.
This program is particularly effective against spyware, fake antivirus programs, harmful components that open windows randomly and in general against threats that want to take control of the PC to spy on us.

4) MalwareBytes Anti-malware

One of the most famous and used tools to clean up your PC from threats is definitely MalwareBytes Anti-malware, available in free version (with trial period of 14 days) .

At the end of the installation of the program, start it and bring us to the Scan screen , where we can start the search for threats by clicking on the Scan button .

Immediately the program will check all areas of the PC in search of the threats supported, so you can remove them automatically.

This program is particularly effective against Trojans, worms, spyware and ransomware, so it's always good to use it when we suspect an infection.

The Premium version (with real-time control coupled with the antivirus) is offered for 14 days free; at the end of the trial period you can always use the program for manual scans but the real-time control will be deactivated until we obtain a user license.

In our case the free version is fine so we can install it without problems.

5) HitmanPro: A very powerful program to remove threats from the PC is definitely HitmanPro, available to download from HitmanPro website.
This program has a multi-engine scanner with cloud detection system that can also catch the threats that have escaped previous tools and antivirus used.

Once started it will be sufficient to start the scan and wait; all threats will be shown in the scan summary screen ready to be deleted or moved to quarantine.

This program is particularly effective against rootkits, ransomware, trojans, spyware and tracking cookies, ie those temporary components in the browser cache that spy our activity and track us as we navigate.
The program can be used for free for 30 days without limits, after which a user license is required to be able to clean the PC (scans are always available).

So we use this HitmanPro only as a last resort when the other recommended tools have failed and the PC is still slow or infected, given its extraordinary power better to use it only when needed and when we no longer have alternatives.

How to add or replace PC RAM

Guide to choose and update RAM on PC, add new memory module or replace them on laptops and desktops

Adding RAM memory is one of the easiest and cheapest ways (even if a few years ago it was more) to increase the performance of any PC, both desktop and laptop.
Before, however, to update the RAM of the computer you have to check what kind of RAM you can mount and, above all, if the PC in use supports this increase and is able to benefit from the increase in memory.
We have talked several times about how important RAM is for any computer, because it is the fast memory, the one in which they are saved temporarily (until the computer is turned off), the processed data that have been loaded from the disk, which instead it is the permanent memory.
Basically, the more RAM there is in a device, the more it is able to manage multiple programs open at the same time without slowing down.

In this article we make a general summary of everything you need to know about the RAM topic, to understand how to update it, how to add or replace the parts inside the computer, what types of RAM to choose and buy .

How to choose RAM

As with most PC hardware parts, there are various models and sizes of RAM, so you have to take some things into account before making any purchases.

How much RAM do we need more than today ?

In general, the more RAM there is, the better it is. That said, not all computers are worth more than 8 GB of RAM, so to understand how much RAM it takes, you can apply the law of diminishing returns.
If switching from 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM will make a big difference, going from 8 GB to 16 GB will still be good in terms of performance, but not so relevant.

Going beyond 16 GB will be completely useless unless you use the PC for very heavy programs.
To date, the ideal amount for a mid-level PC is certainly 8 GB of RAM.

For players and those who work with heavy data and video processing programs or virtual machines or other needs, you may want to get 12 GB, 16 GB or more if your computer allows it.

How much RAM is currently installed now ?

To know how much RAM is currently in the computer, you can open the task manager on a Windows PC (by pressing the CTRL-Shift-Esc keys together ).

Then go to the performance tab to find, on the left, the indication of how much RAM is present and how much is in use.

The one indicated, however, is the total quantity that can be the sum of two or more modules.
To find out how many modules there are inside the PC, you can use a program like Speccy, which is free and only to be downloaded and launched.

In the RAM section you can see all the technical information on the RAM mounted in the computer, for each module that occupies a slot.

RAM modules are chip cards that are bought and have a certain amount of memory.
The slots are the spaces provided on the motherboard of the computer where you can insert the RAM.

If we have two slots on four occupied, we can insert two additional RAM modules to add memory.
If instead we had only two slots, we can increase the memory only by replacing the old modules with two new ones that have greater capacity.

How much RAM can the PC handle ?

Wanting to pay no attention to expenses and add more RAM as possible, however, you must check that the computer used can handle it, because it is said that it is possible to go beyond a certain limit.
On PC there are two limits to consider when it comes to RAM: the maximum memory that Windows can handle and the maximum amount of RAM supported by the motherboard.

As for the limit of Windows the story is very simple: with 32-bit Windows (whatever the version) you can use maximum 4 GB of RAM.

With 64-bit Windows you can get up to 128 GB in the Home version of Windows 10 and even 2 TB of RAM for Windows 10 Professional and Enterprise.

On Windows 7 64 bit, the Home Basic version can handle up to 8 GB, Home Premium up to 16 GB, while Windows 7 Professional handles up to 192 GB of RAM.

As for the motherboard, we say that usually the amount of RAM supported will never be less than 8GB and, almost certainly, you can even reach 16 GB.
To install more RAM you will need to check the motherboard data sheet by looking for the model name on Google (Speccy can tell us this model).

What kind of RAM does the PC require ?

The RAM that the PC can support also depends on the type.

First of all, RAM for desktop PCs is usually supplied with DIMM modules .
Laptop RAM, laptops and some ultra-compact desktops are available in smaller, shorter SODIMM modules .

In addition to the size, you must also check the RAM generation accepted by the computer motherboard, which is presented as a DDR version.

DDR2 : introduced in 2003, no longer used for years and only supported by very old PCs.

DDR3 : the most widely used version of RAM on PCs of the last 6-8 years, introduced in 2007 and still used by cheaper motherboards.

DDR4 : The latest version of RAM, introduced in 2014, found on the newer computers.

Motherboards are designed for only one specific generation of RAM, so if you buy a DDR3 for a PC that supports DDR4, it will not be compatible and will not even fit into its slot because of a different shape.
Also to know what kind of RAM is compatible with the computer in use you can check Speccy, in the RAM category

Other features of the RAM memories (which can be found on Speccy and on the purchase labels) are the speed and latency of the RAM (also called timing ).

RAM speed is expressed in MhZ

The latency, which means the speed at which the RAM module can access its hardware, is presented with a series of 4 numbers. Low latency means faster access to data. Latency times are presented as a series of four numbers like 5-5-5-15.

These two characteristics are not, in fact, so important, because they are not too influential on performance.

We must also take into account that the motherboard or the PC may limit the speed of the RAM if it does not support the maximum speed of the RAM used.

Other features such as heat sinks and RGB leds are just expensive, but not too influential in most cases.

To buy RAM at good prices and have as many choices as possible, you can look at Amazon and look for the one compatible with your PC or motherboard.

Install the RAM

Can I upgrade the laptop's RAM?

Updating the RAM in a laptop always depends on how it was built.

Some laptops have an access panel that can be opened to easily replace the RAM modules.
In other notebook models, however, it may be that there is no way to get to detach the RAM modules present or that are soldered to the motherboard without the possibility of updating.
For laptops you have to do a search on Google to know if and how, that particular model, can be improved by replacing the RAM.

Most laptops allow RAM memory to be updated via a small access panel on the back or by performing a certain level of disassembly (sometimes removing the entire bottom, sometimes removing the keyboard, sometimes a combination).

You will then have to consult the user manual of the laptop or do some research on the internet to find information about the model in use.

How to update the memory of the Desktop PC?

Replacing the RAM or adding a new module is quite simple on desktop PCs.
After opening the case, it is easy to locate the RAM slots on the motherboard, which have their interlocking levers in which to insert the modules.

Obviously, you have to remove all the cables and external accessories from the computer and, before opening it, place it on a table or desk, being careful not to get the shock by touching the metal parts.
Remove the screws at the back by holding the access panel in place. You are about to remove the access panel from the left side of the PC (assuming you are looking in the foreground). In some cases, the entire coverage must be removed. Then set the case on the side with the exposed interiors.

To remove the existing RAM, look for the plastic tabs at the ends of the RAM slots, then press these sticks down (away from RAM) until they click. The module should move slightly upwards, ready to be extracted.

Before connecting the new RAM, the only thing to check is the composition of the slots.
In some PCs the slots are all black, in others they are colored in pairs representing the dual channel mode to optimize the performance of the module pair.

If there are these pairs, it is better to put the RAM of the same amount of memory in the slots with the same color, two by two.

To install the new RAM, align the electrical contacts with the memory slot by putting it in an oblique position, inserting the foot and then moving it vertically, making sure that the notch in the connector is correctly positioned (the modules can only be inserted in one direction).

Once the modules are inserted and pushed gently downwards, they can be locked by moving the two levers upwards to the ends, which fit perfectly if the RAM has been inserted correctly.
At this point you can close the case and turn on the computer-

Check the RAM: installation After installing the new RAM, make sure it works properly, you can look in the BIOS, or start Windows and check the amount of RAM recognized in Speccy or in the task manager.
If the PC shows less RAM than it should, it may be that one or more modules are not completely inserted into the slots and the installation must be repeated.

It may well be that the RAM is not compatible with the motherboard (maybe the wrong generation), or that a module has been installed that has a capacity greater than that allowed by the slot.

How to Update Windows 10 April Update (version 1803)

From April 30, 2018 you can download and install Windows 10 April Update, new update to version 1803

As we are used to, the time has come for the first update of 2018 for Windows 10, which continues to improve every six months with new version updates that everyone can download and install for free.
After the Fall Creators Updated November 2017 , the April Update is a further step in the gradual implementation of Fluent Design in Windows, moving almost all the options from the Control Panel to the Windows 10 Settings menu.

Starting the day Today, the update request for version 1803 of Windows 10 will begin to appear on computers all over the world, but since the release will be gradual, it may take months to see this notification on your desktop.

For sure, starting from April 30, 2018 , Microsoft will make available the download of the new version of Windows 10 April Update in its download page of the Media Creation Tool, which still remains the tool to be used to create the disk or USB pen installation of the system.

Only from May 8th the update will be available via Windows Update for desktop PCs, laptops and even the newest pre-installed tablets that have been tested to be compatible with the new April Update .

To upgrade to Windows 10 April Update you need to have already installed the latest version prior to this, ie 1709.
To do this check you must go to Settings> System> About .

If it is written version 1709, it means that the PC is not yet updated with the latest version of April 2018, while if it was already written 1803, then it means that Windows 10 has already been updated.
Remaining in the Windows 10 Settings, you can search for new updates to download in the Update and Security section by pressing the Check for updates button .

Although the development of Windows 10 April Update is now complete and ready for deployment, Microsoft will make a gradual release of the April Update .

The prudence in installing the Windows 10 updates serves, above all, to protect business and corporate customers, who require no interruption of operations and often use sensitive programs.
During the initial launch, Microsoft will collect telemetry data, feedback from customers, consumers and device manufacturers, expanding, based on these data, the deployment and implementation of version 1803.

Microsoft also uses a strategy to put a lock on devices who may encounter problems with new updates, keeping the restriction until they are sure the problem has been fixed.

In other words, who has a personalized PC, who uses special programs or not tested with Windows 10, who uses device drivers and hardware parts not certified or not officially supported because old, will not receive this update soon and will have to wait a few months.

For individual PC users and laptops, however, there should be no problem downloading and installing the update immediately without waiting for the Windows Update service to notify you.
As in the past, you can press the Update Now button on the Windows 10 download page .
The Microsoft Update Assistant it's just an installer that allows you to force the update to the April Update version, both when Windows Update is not working properly, or if you just want to speed up the time.

The April Update version will be available in Italy from 19.00 on 30 April.

From the same download page you can also press the button to download the Windows 10 installation tool , the one used to create the installation disk.

Also in this way it is possible to force the update of Windows 10, obviously without deleting any personal files, keeping intact all the programs and the installed app and without changes to the configurations.

The installation tool is especially useful for its option of clean installation of Windows 10 that removes all programs and resets the settings to the factory values (still keeping personal files).

Forcing the update is not something that can cause problems to the computer , because even in case of failure, Windows 10 will automatically restore the latest working version, canceling any changes.
Moreover, as already explained several times, it is possible, even after installation, to return to the previous version of Windows 10 , in case there were other problems.

Among the main features of Windows 10 April Update that will be listed and explained in another article, we can briefly report the four most important:

Windows Timeline : to review past activities on the PC and other devices connected to the used Microsoft account.

 New version of Microsoft Edge
Focus Assist , to silence application notifications.
Dictation , a new simplified dictation mode.

How to synchronize and share files using the original drive in Windows 10

OneDrive, Microsoft's cloud storage service, can back up personal and business files online. It is a built-in feature in Windows 10 that allows you to synchronize files from your Windows 10 PC to your cloud and your Windows PC. If you install the app on your smartphone or tablet, you can sync it. The original drive syncs cloud files to the Mac as well.

It is also convenient to collaborate. You can share files in the original drive by sending a web link to the collaborator. Here are some basic things you need to know to use the Microsoft circle drive in Windows 10:

Getting Started

There are two ways to log in as the original drive in Windows 10. When you log into a Windows 10 PC with a Microsoft user account, the original drive is already enabled by default. If you have a free webmail account on, you already have a Microsoft user account. If not , you can sign up for free .

If you do not want to log in to Windows 10 with a Microsoft user account, you can log in to the original drive separately. Right-click the circle-like circle drive icon in the notification area of the taskbar, select Settings, and then click the Add Account button on the Accounts tab.

In the window that opens, enter the email address and password of your Microsoft user account.

There is free 5GB of disk drive storage per person. If you pay $ 2 a month, you get 50G. The uploaded file size can not exceed 10GB. There are also two business fare plans. One terabyte per user per year can be spent for $ 60 or an unlimited $ 120. The file size limit also goes up to 15GB. The original drive is also included in Office 365

Storing and Synchronizing Files with File Explorer In

Windows 10, the use of the original drive is mainly through the file explorer. The circle drive appears in the left navigation window that opens the file explorer. You can drag and drop files from one location to another, or you can save files such as documents, photos, and so on in most Windows applications.
Every time you put a file or folder in the original drive directory on your PC, a copy is automatically uploaded to the cloud. If you delete a file or folder from the original drive on your PC, it will also be deleted from the cloud.
If you change the file on the PC's original drive and save it, the old version stored in the cloud will be replaced with the latest version. If you are offline when you make changes to a file, the latest version file will be uploaded to the cloud the next time you connect to the Internet

Unsync a specific folder

By default, all the circle drive files and folders are automatically synced to the cloud. To change this, right-click the circle drive icon in the notification area of the taskbar. When the menu window opens, click [Settings]. In the window that will open next, click the [Account] tab and click the 'Select folder' button. On the screen that appears, uncheck the folder where you want to stop synchronization.

Desktop, Documents, and Photo Folders
'm confused and confused, but the original drive itself has a separate folder called Desktop, Documents, and Photos. It is completely separate from the folder with the same name on the PC's hard drive. When you log in to the original drive, the original drive folder is used as the default storage location for the specific type file. For example, the .docx file is stored in the Documents folder on the original drive instead of the Documents folder on the hard drive.

You can change this way to have your files stored on your PC's original desktop, documents, and photo folders (not synchronized with the original drive). Right-click the circle drive icon in the notification area of the taskbar, click Settings, and go to the AutoSave tab. Click the input box next to [Desktop, Document, or Photo] and select 'This PC only' from the dropdown.

If you delete one of these new folders in the circle drive in the file explorer, the corresponding drop-down in the [Auto Save] tab above will return to 'This PC only'.

One Drive Files On Demand With

the Windows 10 Fall Creators update released in October 2017, a feature called File On Demand has been added to the original drive. If you enable this feature, files stored in the cloud will not be forced to download to your Windows 10 PC. Instead, you can select a saved file. After uploading the file to the cloud, you can remove it from the hard drive of your Windows 10 PC.

File on demand is enabled by default on a PC running the Windows 10 Fall Creator update. To disable it, right-click the circle drive icon in the notification area of the taskbar, click Settings in the menu window, click the Settings tab, and then click Save file space to save the space under File on demand. Uncheck the check box.

File synchronization status File synchronization status

of the circular drive in the file browser is indicated by a small icon next to the file name.
If there is a cloud icon next to the file name or folder, it means that the file or folder is not on the PC and only in the cloud.
